Artistically, I am influenced by visual art from street artists like Shepard Fairey, pop artists like Roy Lichtenstein, and surrealists like Salvador Dali.
Musically, I am influenced by some of my favorite punk bands like The Dead Kennedy’s; Industrial bands like Skinny Puppy, Revolting Cocks, and Ministry; as well as other Wax Trax veterans like My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Front 242, and KMFDM. I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to Martin Atkins for his influence on my approach to music and business alike.
Spiritually, I used to call myself a Zen Atheist, which I later learned to much amusement is really kind of another way of saying that I am a Secular Buddhist. Many thanks to Noah Rasheta of SecularBuddhism.com for his podcast. I am finally moving forward again as a direct result of listening to episodes 1-5. Therefore, in accordance with the Buddhist concept of Wise Livelihood (an aspect of the 8 Fold Path) I’ve made a personal and professional commitment to seeing that JStep, LLC is in alignment with my best values.
So it is in this spirit of Wise Understanding, Thought, Speech, Action, Livelihood, Effort, Mindfulness, and Concentration that JStep, LLC will skillfully operate.
